Casey completed his undergraduate theatre design training at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in 2012, before returning to deepen his craft through the Master of Design for Performance.
Theatre highlights include award-winning productions of The Leenane Trilogy (fortyfivedownstairs/Kin Collective) and Hart (SheSaid), alongside designs for Arts Centre Melbourne, St Martins Youth Arts Centre, Dancehouse, Union House Theatre, Riot Stage, Darebin Speakeasy, Theatreworks and La Mama. Casey has designed music videos for artists ranging from Justin Bieber through to The Cat Empire and Something For Kate, and runway sets for Melbourne Fashion Festival and Melbourne Fashion Week.
The 2021 recipient of the Trina Parker Scholarship, Casey has designed VCA productions of Gaban by Brook Andrew and costumes for Promiscuous/Cities by Lachlan Philpott, alongside interning with Richard Roberts and Christina Smith. He assisted Richard Roberts on HMS Pinafore and The Pirates of Penzance for State Opera of South Australia.
